Introduction

This page shows what I found when I looked at the photos. Using the results of the Libya trip, I had a very good idea what I would see at a particular shutter speed.  Therefore, I shot at a fast 1/1250 until a couple of seconds after 2nd contact. I then got on the ground (since a meridian flip had turned my camera on its head) and adjusted the timing for 3 slower shots to get the inner corona. I reset to 1/1250 and just watched until near 3rd contact.  I then shot the 3rd contact set.

 2nd contact (The Movie)

I created this movie by combining the sequence of shots before 2nd contact.  It shows the early stages of totality (before it is safe to look at with your eyes without filters.
